About SCPY
The Society of Coloproctology of Yugoslavia was established on the initiative Board meeting held on the 9th of October 1997 in Belgrade.
The Society was initiated and founded on December 12, 1997 in Belgrade by a number of enthusiasts: Prof. Dr Dragoslav Stevovic, Assoc. Prof. Dr Zoran Krivokapic Prof. Dr Branimir Guduric, Dr Mihalj Bogar, Dr Velimir Makovic, Dr Milos Popovic, Dr Ilija Tripkovic, Dr Ranko Mirovic, this group was very soon enlarged with Prof. Dr Marko Kontic, Doc. Dr Tomica Milosavljevic, Ass. Djordjije Saranovic and Doc. Dr Milan Breberina with a propose to improve treatment of colon and rectal disease and to provide interdisciplinary access in diagnosis and management of diseases of this region.
According to the Statute of the Society all decisions are made by the Executive Committee. More important decisions are made together with the Presidency including opinions of the past Presidents.

Also, intentions of the Society are organization of scientific meetings, organizations of visits and lectures of significant international surgeons and physicians, education of Yugoslav surgeons and other physicians, participation of members of the Society in professional teams that control medical services that provide treatment of diseases of colon and rectum, participation of members of the Society in giving an expert opinion regarding colorectal region.
